University and College Education
The education sector has always focused to nature students for employment. This has led in creating more educated students but most of them unfortunately aren’t employed. The need of having to nature entrepreneurs instead of nurturing certificates should be of more essence.
I believe the closure of Technical colleges and their shift towards offering degrees instead of technical courses was an error. There is need to have skills you can use instead having knowledge which cannot be utilized.
The employment industry especially in well-established organization is on the decline. More and more employees are being retrenched at a faster rate than they are being absorbed. For instance, employees from the following industries were laid off;

This should not be a course for alarm to the graduates or those working towards attaining a degree. Instead they should think on ways of venturing in the under-utilized industries in the country.
Nature of Demand and Supply
The nature of demand under normal circumstances is such that when supply increases, the demand as well as the price of the commodity decreases. Same case applies to the Job Market where there are more graduates being released the industry meaning the Organizations has more to choose from at very low wages.
Many courses are overcrowded while certain industries have shortages of skilled employees. An industry such as Marine has few employees where their demand keeps on increasing. Accounting On the other hand is overcrowded with professionals, every college you find from the village to town offers accounting courses. The need of reversing such a norm is essential in order to have more skilled professionals instead of more educated professionals.
What’s there to do..?
Before undertaking a course, critical analysis needs and consultation needs to be done. If something is your passion, then you should definitely do it regardless of the odds, but if you are attempting to fit in an industry, you should carefully think about the possible alternative and undertake one that is more promising.
Taking Every Opportunity
As a student sometimes we may tend to blame the education system, but then looking back while in school, there are opportunities which availed themselves that I never utilized. Things such as incubation in a University is a gold mine and an entry point toward being an employer. As a students, it is always advisable to look beyond books and look for means of making money….besides betting, of course.
